I bought the part and actually figured out how to remove the door panel with a minimum of damage, only to find out that the damn actuator is buried low and inside the body of the door frame itself. Is this part even changeable? I don't see any way to get to it short of the jaws of life. Am I missing something? The reason I want to change it is that when I lock the doors, it screeches. When I unlock the doors, it's perfect, not a sound.

I still can't see what diffrence that will make. I can't see the actuator and I can't hardly even reach it with my hand. It's buried in the bottom of the door well. No access to it at all.

The difference is you can replace the actuator when you remove the latch assembly. You can not replace the actuator by sticking your hand in there.
Remove the window rear channel, remove the 3 screws on the side of the door that holds the latch, disconnect the rods from the outer door handle and disconnect the wire connector to remove the latch, after you remove the latch, remove the screw that holds the actuator.
