1993 Honda Accord RPM Gauge Shakes Up & Down

Okay, today I noticed something strange. When I accelerate fairly hard, I noticed my RPM gauge/needle bounces up and down, but the engine RPM is not changing. As if everything is normal. The car does not sputter. I noticed this happens at any speed. On surface streets or highway. Could this be an electrical short? Is something wrong with my transmission?

Hi Garreolla,

The symptoms is an indication the ignition coil is failing or the signal to the tachometer is bad.
