I just brought this car about two weeks ago the car runs great, got the oil change and later that night the hormonic balance gives out I had like four 3 people work on the car and the reason it was three because they could'nt get the bolt out the middle of the hormonic balance they heated it that did'nt work use a torque wrench and heat that did'nt work the last guy did the rachet and breaker stick trick where you put it under the frame and bump the engine and when he did that he broke the bolt. How can I get the bolt out now or do I have to buy a new crank shaft?

HI there,

If the bolt has broken I feel that it may have been cross threaded and it has become bound up, you may be able to try drilling it out and cleaning the existing thread out with a tap, but this must be done with extreme caution as you can damage the thread, failing this it will be a new crank shaft.

You need to drill a pilot hole in the exact centre of the broken bolt, if it is not the exact centre you will not be able to drill it out evenly, step the drill size up until you reach the tapping dia, carefully re tap the thread, this should be done by someone that had done this type of work, one slip and you will destroy the crank shaft.
