1993 Honda Accord Gasoline Smell?

We just bought this car and yesterday we filled it up with gas for the first time and now it has a strong odor of gasoline that's not going away. What could be causing this problem? I truly appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Hi risaun69,

When gas odor is present, there should be a leaking somewhere and you need to check where it is coming from.

Possible areas are
1. Fuel tankl, especially from fuel pump seals. Check if the fuel tank seems wet or stained.
2. Fuel lines or hoses. If from rear, check if the fuel filler pipes are leaking. Front could be from the hoses or charcoal canister.
