Hi Bruce,

Thank you for the donation.

What engine do you have and is it carburetted or fuel injected?

Honda does not have any V12 that I know of.

For carburetted models, the most common cause for the engine to stall during would be the fuel cut solenoid. It is located at rear center of carburettor. Remove the solenoid and with ignition ON, ground and if it clicks, it is good. If not, check for battery voltage at the wire. If voltae is avaiable, the solenoid is bad.

Use compressed air to blow into the port for installing the solenoid, reinstall and retest.

i have a 96' Accord with 113k. I asked a guy to change my fuel filter and he told be that he recommends that I also change my fuel pump at the same time. I he said that it is very probable that the fuel pump will stop working once I change the fuel filter. This is the first time that I ever heat something like this. He mentioned that with Accord that usual happens if the pump is not changed with the filter. Can you time me if this is a true statement or if he is looking to get more money out of me?

Hi there,

I have change a few of these filters and never had a pump fail soon after, come to think of it i don't think i have ever replaced one of these fuel pumps, You always replace the filter if a new pump is fitted, but in this case, i think it is a bit extravagant to say the least.

1997 Honda Accord Special Edition, 153000 miles. I need to ask two questions, please. Where is the fuel filter on this car? Also, replacing the valve cover gasket, spark plugs and wires, there are 4 o-rings in the gasket kit. Where do these o-rings go? Thanks for your help.

The fuel filter should be on the firewall. Follow the fuel lines coming off the injector rail.

The orings are they big or small. Sometimes people call a washer an oring. You might be talking about the washers that go on top of the plug wire wells or you could be talking about the orings on the injectors.

the fuel filter on that model is either under the vehicle near the subframe just below the driver's floor(on the incline and a little tough to see sometimes) the other place is (can't remember exactly what year they started doing this) in the fuel tank which you only service IF you have a fuel pressure problem(basically its just a screen on the end of the pump)
The answer to your other question is If the o-rings are fairly thick the they go in the valve cover to stop oil from entering the spark plug holes .If they are real skinny then they go underneath the rocker arm assembly(also to prevent oil from entering the spark plug holes but at a lower level)
