what does it mean if my brake pedal goes to the floor sometimes and not other?

Hi seemoney,

That is an indication of a bad master cylinder. It is leaking internally and when you hold the brake pedal it would sink slowly to the floor.

If the low pedal happens only on the first stroke of depressing pedal, then it could be air in the system.
