My taillights went out on my accord. When I turn on my headlights im completely dark in the back until I press the brake pedal. How do I fix this problem fast and cheap?

Start with checking fuses. The check the bulbs. Even though the brake lights work they do not use the same element in the bulb. Next, check the grounding of the light. Given the age of the vehicle, a good ground is a common problem.
