The watert pump is ready for a cemetary. My husband is a mechanic and got nuts/bolts off to get to the water pump. The last thing that he tried to get off wouldn't budge. It was something right above the tire on the driver side, a circular metal thing with a big bolt in the middle. Every time he tried to take the bolt off the circular thing would move so he said that he needed some kind of heavy duty machine to get it off. I was just wondering if there was any other way of getting this off or some other way of getting around this? Incase you are wondering he gave up mechanics 3 months ago to be a Auto Appraiser. He hates working on cars!!!! We will NOT bring it to a mechanic because the trust is just not there plus it would be money just thrown out! Thank you and sorry for the little knowledge I have on car parts and so on. Atleast those reading can get a laugh out of it!

I would say that he is trying to get the harmonic balancer off of the car. That can be a bit of a problem. Sometimes and impact wrench works but they are torqued on pretty tight. I have used a big channel lock that grips on the pulley. Using an old belt on the pulley to prevent damage to the pulley itself while removing the bolt. Finally, the harmonic balancer is usually, but not always, fitted with a hexegonal cutout around the center bolt. There is a special tool that fits the cutout and allows a socket to fit inside to grab the bolt. This a special tool and I am sure Honda has them. I persoanally have made my own. Good luck. It is very important that the bolt be put back in and properly torqued again or it will come off and leave the car stranded.

Let me know if there is more you need or if you totally don't understand it.
