Hi I am buying my daughter a 1991 Honda Accord as her first car. The only problem found is that the speedometer works some times and then acts up and does not want to work right. I have been told that it could be the Signal Generator. Where is that located and what tools are needed to change it?

Follow the axles shafts and where they go into the transmission. Right above on the transmission you will see a connector and the speed sensor which runs off a gear that is mounted to the differential in the transmission. You only have to unbolt the top portion of the sensor as the lower half if only the gear that meshes with the gear on the diferrential.

Hope that helps if you have any questions please don;t hesitate to ask.

Well I got the speed sensor replaced and the speedometer still does not work? Double checked all the hook ups too. It started to work as I left the driveway, just like the old one. Then when I turned the corner it stopped working again, fell back to zero. What could be the problem?
