Electrical problem
1991 Honda Accord 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 222k miles

All the references I have found indicate I need to pull off the power steering pump and pull the alternator out through the bottom. Is this the best and easiest way to get it off. Any tricks to this process?

That is correct, removing the power steering pump will gain good access to the alternator so you can then disconnect and remove it.
