Hi Joelzak
MAINTENANCE INDICATOR (IF EQUIPPED)
When total mileage of vehicle approaches specified maintenance interval, the appropriate indicator will change from Green to Yellow. If indicator is not reset before mileage interval is reached, the indicator will change to Red. The "Service Interval" indicator is a reminder that there are other items requiring servicing besides just oil and filter change. To reset indicator, insert the ignition key into the appropriate slot below the speedometer and hold for a few seconds.

Thanks a bunch for the info.
Not a mechanic by any means so bare with me.
Come to find out my alternator was no good now would that affect the meter or just for the maintenance required at that certain mileage?
Thank you for taking time to answer my questions.

Hi Joelzak
You are welcomed.
Alternator problem is not related to the maintenance reminder which is mileage related and occurs after a certain mileage after it was reseted previously.
