Engine Performance problem
1991 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 230k miles

Just replaced the ignitor switch and ignition coil inside the distributor 4 days ago and it died again and the ignitor is bad again. There was oil inside the cap and body of the distributor. We didnt replace the o-ring and dont know if the oil is from there because there is oil leaking from the valve cover gasket or if the back side of the dist. where it attaches to the (head?) that part with the 2 tabs has play in it from side to side. What are the chances that I can replace the o-ring and that will fix it.

Your distributor bearing and seal is worn, causing oil to seep into the distributor. Need a new distributor assembly.
