when i turn the ignition key, i can tell that it's trying to crank but it wont. sometimes it will crank, but after trying so many times. why is this ?

what model accord? i would reccommend the next time it decides to crank go to the auto parts store and have a battery and load test done on the battery and alternator to start because hey..... its free....but to speculate on other possiblilties it could just be a worn out starter and its not as efficent as it used to be but first make sure its getting the amperage it needs to work right IE. fresh battery + good alternator.... good luck :)
