Ok so I was driving my car one day and all of a sudden there was a noise(like if you were to stick a piece of hard plastic in a fan) and the car died, it would not start again. We had it towed back home and we took the valve cover off and looked at the spark plugs and other things and one of the spark plugs looked as if it was smashed in by something the end of it that you gap was gone. What could have happened.

Hi mrs.walker,

From the symptom description, it seems one of the pistons have given way and smashed the spark plugs, It could be due to lubrication problem and the con rod bearings wore off causing the knocking noise prior to it failing.

You would have to rebuild or replace the engine.
