1990 Honda Accord clutch

1990 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual

I am having a hard time trying to change my clutch. I think my pilot shaft may be rusty a bit and stuck with the clutch and its causing the transmission not to disconnect from the bellhousing. I even tried to put a two by four against the trans and hit it with a hammer to separate but that didn't work. The only other thing i can think of is that I pull out the engine and get the trans and clutch off that way. Itilt the engine so that maybe the trans could slide out easier but that never work either. even tried to
