my 1990 honda accord will only rev upto 3.5k rpms and excessively burns fuel what could cause this?

Hi HONDAGUY90EX,

There are various possibilities.
1. Throtte postion sensor
2. ECM
3. Clogged catalytic converter.
4. O2 sensor

Is there any Check engine light showing?
