The car sat for four years and now the trans slips when shifting from second to third and to fourth--- any kind of fix i can do? I have a manual and it says to leave it to the experts, but i was hoping there is a additive that might help

You're probably going to need a rebuild. Did you try changing the transmission oil? That's about your only hope. But don't get your hopes up.
