while driving home on the freeway, i had cruise control set at 65 and all of the sudden i found the car redlining..i removed it out of 5th and put it back into 5th only to find it redlining with no grab. i repeated the same thing with 4th gear and 3rd gear worked for a little while making a screaching/grinding noise.....i had to drive in 2nd gear the remainder 10 miles to home at 30mph toughing out the screeching and the smell of burnt rubber as i put a smoke screen behind me...any ideas?

Hi civicryder,

From the description it seems the clutch has faileed causing the problem.

The engine is revving due to the clutch slipping.
