when car is started the engine races like im steeping on the gas while car is idling and smoke comes from the engine area around the maninfold

Hi Rc Jones,

The high idling could be due to a fault with the auto chole or idle control system.

The smoke from the exhaust should be oil driping onto the exhaust due to a bad oil cap or valve cover gasket.
