hi how do you know if the head gasket is blown ive been haveing idle problems sence ive been haveing black smoke out the exhaust can u help please thanks.

if head gasket is cracked you would be overheating and have a loss of coolant along with white smoke from exhaust (not black smoke). black smoke usually means fuel being burnt out. check spark plugs and wires, may be bad and not burning all the fuel.
