If dash lights are not on when ignition is released from start position, the ignition switch is faulty.

If carb model, the carb idle switch is not working. Electrical possibilities are blown fuse or faulty solenoid. If PGM carb model, check out the solenoid control unit under passenger seat.

If fuel injected model, the cold start and idle system needs checking.
