I just recently patched a large hole in my exhaust with aluminum, aluminum tape and some clamps. The car was experiencing vacuum problems(carburetor not idling correctly) now it works much better, no cut offs, easier shifting etc. However, today, my car overheated on the highway. The coolant was forced into overflow where it escaped. I've read that backpressure can cause this, and am wondering if anything else could be the reason. Also, if the location of the hole I patched could be an indicator of where the clog is. The hole was on a cylinder with a cylinder inside with holes throughout.(converter?) Any assistance would be VERY much appreciated.
