For carburetted model, it usually is a nightmare trying to solve such problems. Possible causes are
1. Faulty Solenoid Control unit, located under passensger seat.
2. Vacumn leakages, 1 of about 20 vacumn hoses could be leaking resulting in poor idling.
3. Faulty fuel cut solenoid, at rear end of carburettor just above the air/fuel mixture scres.
4. Clogged idle circuit in carb.
5. Manifold or carb mount gasket leakages.
6. Faulty PCV.

Happy hunting and good luck.
