Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
1986 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello!

Thank you for taking to time to read this.

A few weeks ago, I was going up the road (kinda on an incline) and all of a sudden, it started grinding, and slowing down. I pulled over, and tried to put it in Park. Park was grinding. Everything except neutral was grinding.

So, I had to get a ride home, and get it towed back to my house. I got it in the garage, and got my step-dad to help me look at it. After a little bit of looking, my best guess would be that the axles came out of the transmission. We tried bumping them back in without taking it completely apart, but it only worked for about 10 feet. As soon as I backed out of the garage, the axles came out again, and it did the same thing as stated before.

It's still sitting in my garage. I really am not that good with the mechanics thing. I can do it, I just need some instructions.

Here's a little extra info I just remembered. I live in North Carolina, and we just had this big snow. The car was frozen to the ground (The left front wheel was), and we tried to pull it out. When we did, it jerked the axles out. We had to have it towed to a shop, where they re-installed the axles.

Any ideas and advice would be greatly appreciated. Please try to send your answer to me in an e-mail. I check it really often.
