how serious are hairline fractures?

Hi there,

If you are referring to cylinder heads, this is not a huge problem as they can be ground out and welded up, there are occasions that they are not able to chase them all the way then this is a bit more of a problem, but under normal conditions a pressure check and a dye penetration crack test will prove the repair successful.
