Hi my clumsy wife drove the and ran out of petrol, ever since the car feels like it runs on 5 cyclinders. How can I check this? I worry taking it to my local machanic he might tell me other stuff is wrong and over charge me.

Thanx for your time

Hi there,

you should change the fuel filter as it will be full of muck from the dregs in the tank, if it is missing under load, this could be a number of things, often plug leads fail, plugs and coil packs, but if it was ok since the fuel mishap, you my have dirt in an injector, so do the filter use a fuel system cleaner and see if it clears up, if not re post and i will advise your next move.
