check the belt for cracks going with the ridges in it and if you can see the cords its bad. also check for glazing should be some what plyable and not hard as plastic. if it is replace. now looking at the auto tensioner there will be a range marks on the tensioner housing and the mark should be within the range marks. if not the belt is too stretched.
