2001 Holden Barina leaking

I am only 18 years old and know nothing of cars and my car is leaking near the front and the water empties out really quickly and when I come to a stop lets say im waiting at the traffic light for 5 minutes the temperature goes up but when I start driving it goes back down their is also smoke coming out of it when I stop someone who looked at it told me id need to get my water pump replaced please tell me if they are right and if so how much would it cost approximately

Hi there,

The first thing to do is get a cooling system pressure test done, as this will help locate the coolant leak, get this done to identify where the leak is first then an estimate can be made on the repairs, this data base wont have Australian cars, but I can advise eon a water pump replacement cost in a day or so.
