Hissing and roaring smoke

Pulled up in my driveway turned truck off it started hissing and roaring smoke.

With no useful information to go on, my guess is a radiator hose popped a leak. The steam would be coming from under the hood. If the smoke came from inside the cab, suspect an electrical fire. If it came from the tail pipe, you have to specify the color. Blue smoke means burning engine oil. White smoke is a result of burning engine coolant, typically due to a leaking head gasket. Black smoke is from burning way too much fuel.
