I recently had my TCM replaced through Ford as part of the recall for my car listed above. I have avoided highway driving for months as I’d slip out of gear and the TCM was on back order for a few months. My car has no gear slipping issues but I feel as though it’s either not shifting through all gears or behaving strangely at high speeds.
When I’m on the highway going around 70mph my rpms will sit and stay above 2,500 and sometimes near 3,000, but hover around 2,500 even with my foot off the gas (zero acceleration, just maintaining speed) and that seems high to me. Is this a normal RPM for driving around 70 or is my car still not using its higher gears? Thanks in advance for any help!
