High pitched whining

Car has high pitched whining noise that increases as you excellerate. Also exhaust has stronger smell than normal.

does it sound like in the engine or the drive line???

Probably engine. But driveline has felt jerky since brand new. Car has 70,000 miles now

could be power steering. remove the belt and see if the noise is still there
