Tachometer/engine runs up to 2000 rpm's when I put it in gear. Prior to being in gear has normal curb idle. What is up?

It sounds like a TPS sensor could be out but to be sure lets run the codes to see what comes up.

Please run down this guide and report back.

Replaced that already, This is happening when the shifter is put into gear. Educated guess it is a sensor on the gearbox. Really a question of is it?

I do not think it has anything to do with the transmission. Is the check engine light on? Can we run the codes to see what comes up?
