One more thing. When I start it, it idles high like 1,800 RPMs. After about 1 minute or 2 it's down to 1,200 RPMs. I do not like to shift with the RPMs too high as I am afraid of a transmission problem. Once it's totally warmed up 2 miles from the house it's down without the A/C running to like 700 RPMs. I cleaned the MAP sensor with MAP sensor cleaner which was no help. What else can I do? Waste a lot of gas and time waiting for it to idle down. Thanks for the help.

It can be a vacuum leak, or the throttle body needs to be replaced, can I ask if there are any codes? We should run them to see if any are stored.

Here is a guide to help:

Here is a guide that will help with the high idle problem and give the most popular causes for the high idle condition and how to fix it.

Here is how to swap out the throttle body in case there is a code for it but please go over the guides above first. Also, check the base gasket for the throttle body as well. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response of any problems so we can see what to help you with.
