Joe, I have the van listed above Touring, the power steering pump has gone bad. How hard is it to do and anything special that needs to be done? Like when I take the pump off and install the new one.

Larry,

Great to hear from you. The replacement of the pump is straightforward. The only thing you really need to be careful with is the IMT connector. IMT stands for intake manifold tuning. You will be disconnecting the 8 pin connector to the actuator. Just don't force it. The pins aren't too strong.

As far as replacement, I attached the directions specific to your vehicle below. Take a look through them and let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Note:
The only thing not mentioned in the directions, and I always do is this. Once everything is reinstalled, fill the P/S reservoir. Lift the front wheels slightly off the ground and with the engine off, turn the steering fully from left to right a few times. Do it slowly so you get more air out. Next, check the fluid. If it is low, refill it and do it again. Ultimately, you want the fluid to stabilize and to eliminate as many air bubbles in the fluid as possible.

Also, here is a link you may find helpful. It explains in general how to replace a pump.

Take good care of yourself and great to hear from you.
