How do the spark plug wires go on the spark plugs and on the distributor cap?

Good morning, Joe.

Joe, the guy working on my truck has not installed the spark plug wires, rotor cap, or distributor cap. Does the rotor cap go on any special way? How do the spark plug wires go on the spark plugs and on the distributor cap?

Hi,

The plug wires need to be installed in a specific order based on the firing order. I have attached a pic below and have arrows indicating where the plug wire connects to the distributor and which cylinder it goes to.

As far as the ignition rotor is concerned, it will only fully seat in one position. Check for a keyway or something which prevents it from not being aligned properly.

I take it that the coil wire goes in the middle of the distributor.
