Hello,
High RPM's or "searching" RPM's at idle is usually a sign of a vacuum leak somewhere. This would also cause other driveability concerns like hesitation at high RPM's, which is dangerous for your vehicle. To check for a vacuum leak inspect the air intake track, throttle body, vacuum and EVAP lines. Look for broken or cracked vacuum lines. Also check around the intake manifold and listen for any hissing of air being sucked into the engine. Please get back to us with what you find.
Thanks,
Alex
