Not starting but has power?

Okay, hello, i appreciate your help. So, i drove the car all day, I stopped for about an hour and when i came back the check engine light turned on and it shifted hard into drive. i drove it for about a mile when i noticed it was stuck in second from the start. I parked the car and when i tried to restart it the power came on and everything worked. But when i pushed the brake and the ignition there was nothing. Also, most like it's in lock out mode. Also, the key light in on in the dash.

The fact that the key light is on means the security system is engaged but I think it might be a battery issue. So, let's use this guide to load test the battery, it's easy. Then if okay let's run the codes to see what comes up. you can get a code scanner from Amazon for about $20.00.
