Hi,

What symptoms are you experiencing? I ask because, although the codes relate to the same module, they have different meanings. A 7E8 engine code indicates a leak in the evaporative emission control system. On the other hand, the 7E9 code is related to the engine powertrain, specifically with the transmission.

I need to know how you retrieved these codes. Also, they are very basic and don't identify the specifics. If you haven't, you should consider scanning the can-bus system. CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, all the modules/computers are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will identify codes regardless of the module they are stored in.
