Hello, I'm Danny.
I converted my 1970 El Camino years ago to HEI. It will only take you 2 lengths of wire and 3 connectors. Connect wire to 12v Key On power at the fuse box. Run wire to HEI and splice wires together. Plug connector to positive terminal on HEI. Now run the other wire to starter solenoid. I suggest running new wire because you can't use existing wire due to having fusible link included. Pretty simple! Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Hello again,
Do you have the factory fuse box or have you upgraded to an aftermarket? If yours is still factory I've attached a picture below. Check the ignition fused terminal (circled in red). Check to see if it's 12v power with key on. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.

Hello again,
If you can use your phone and take a picture upload it here for me to view. I've attached a picture of the factory 1966 Impala fuse box I found and attached in the above post. If yours differs as I stated upload a picture for me and I will get back to you. Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
