My heater isn’t warming up quickly at all. When I’m driving and don’t have heater on, the engine warms up. My antifreeze was gone after being filled a month before. I’m thinking there’s a leak but not really sure where to start. I’m going to try to fix the problem myself and have never done so before!

Hello,

Okay, engine cooling systems are really easy. So, imagine a football field with the engine in the middle. At each end zone there is a radiator to exchange heat, attached with hoses and coolant passages, with a water pump and a gate called a thermostat tucked in to the hoses and passages. That is your vehicle's cooling system. So, if you suspect a leak, we have to figure out where. Is your vehicle loosing coolant? Please get back to us and we can go from there.

Thanks,
Alex
