Hello, my van heating only comes out the dash vents. The windshield defroster and floor outlets are non functional.

Recently the heat stopped coming out and now nothing but cool air. Prior to losing heat a clicking noise would start when moving the adjustment level to heat.

Hello,

It sounds like you have a temperature blend door actuator that has gone bad. Here is a guide to show you what you are in for when doing the job:

Below is how it will be on your car.

Please let us know what happens.

Hello Ken,

Thanks for getting back to me. With your advice along with the videos I was able to switch out the actuator that is located behind the radio. I could not get the radio out as the left track would not function; I believe it was pushed out where the tool would not work. I was able to view the actuator from below the dash and was able to reach up and remove and replace the actuator. I now have heat...Thank You.

Now my second problem is with the vents. The dash vents are the only vents working; the defroster and the floor vents do not work.I know there is another actuator, I think, that controls the vents. I saw in your videos that vent actuator was located below the glove box. I looked behind the glove box and did not see another actuator in that area. Can you give advice as to where the vent actuator is located on my 2003 Windstar.

I saw what looks like a wiring diagram of what I think might be the diagram for where the 4 or 5 actuators are located but I could not follow the diagram as compared to my Windstar.

Thank You again for your help...

Have A Great Day!

It sounds like the mode actuator is not working this actuator is vacuum operated so I would check the vacuum lines going from the HVAC system to the engine to make sure they are not leaking.

Here is a guide to help you see what I am talking about.
