The mechanic stated today that my car needed a heater core costing $700 or so. I know most of the cost is labor because of where heater core is located. I am without a job at this time but need a car. Is there anyway that I can have the mechanic bypass the heater core. It is April and I would have 6 months to come up with the money or buy a new car.

RADIATOR "STOP LEAK" MIGHT BUY YOU SOME MORE TIME.............

YES, THE CORE CAN BE BYPASSEDPROBABLY FOR LESS THAN $20........BASICALLY THE 2 HOSES THAT ENTER THE CORE WILL BE DISCONNECTED AT THE CORE.....AND BE TIED TOGETHER

YOU NEED TO EXPLORE OTHER OPTIONS......SURELY, YOU DON'T LIVE IN ALASKA, AND "YOUR GUY" IS THE ONLY ONE AROUND FOR 1000 MILES........SEE MY LINK.....MAYBE THIS WILL ENLIGHTEN YOU, MAYBE OTHER OPINIONS WILL BE HELPFUL!
