I have a great heat on the drivers but now it started to blow just cold air on passenger side. Took the glove box. I don't have the clicking noide associated with a bad blend door actuator. And when i change the temperature buttons up and down there is movement with the little arm attached to the little black box. Does that mean i should still replace the blend door actuator? Maybe i am confusing parts. I only see one of those actuators in the pass side and its closest to the center console.

Hi,

If you lost heat on the one side, it is something with the blend door. There is only one heater core, so we know it's hot because there is still heat on the left.

I don't know if you have automatic or manual temperature control. Regardless, here are the directions for replacement. First is a link that shows in general how one is replaced. Then directions specific to your vehicle. The attached pic correlates with the directions. Note: This is for the right side (passenger side) actuator. This is what I suspect is the issue.

Also, you mentioned you see something moving. Confirm it is the correct actuator and nothing is loose.

5. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. See: Battery Cable > Service and Repair
6. Remove the glove box from the instrument panel See: Glove Compartment > Removal and Replacement > Instrument Panel Glove Box - Removal.
7. Remove the three screws (1) that secure the blend door actuator (2) to the passenger side of the HVAC air distribution housing (3).
8. Remove the blend door actuator from the air distribution housing and disconnect the HVAC wire harness connector (4) and remove the actuator from the vehicle.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions. Also, note that the directions start at number 5. That is because numbers 1-4 are for the left (driver's side).

Take care,
Joe
