I am a single lady who bought a one owner car from an elderly lady. To the best of my knowledge the automatic climate control for the passenger side had never been used until my Grandson used it to adjust the air on his side. Since then when I go to use the heat it only comes out on the drivers side and cold air comes out on the passenger side. Once in awhile it will open properly and blow out both sides. Heat comes out the back just fine but on defrost it is only cold air. Do not know if that is normal.
I was just going to go ahead and order the actuator blend door part but thought I would get a second opinion.
If this is the problem can I access this from down on the floorboard and under the dash of the passenger side?

Good afternoon.

You are correct. The actuator is not working all the time. I would definitely replace it.

Roy

-Disable SIR system. See: Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming > Service and Repair

1. I/P Compartment insert by pulling rearward.

2. Temperature valve link rod from plastic retainer on temperature valve.

3. Electrical connector.

4. Passenger air mix valve actuator screws and actuator.

-Adjust passenger temperature valve link rod after installation, refer to "Passenger Temperature Valve Link Adjustment" See: Air Door Actuator / Motor, HVAC > Adjustments

So this fix is in the steering column. My horn had recently quit working also which I was told was in the steering column. Is that correct? Do you have directions for that as well?

No, this is on the passenger side of the dash behind the glove box.

I will help with the horn. What is the exact issue?
