There is more heat coming from the vents than the floor area?

When I have the selector on floor mode, I still get heat from the vents (75%) compared to all the heat to the floor area (25 %). The defrost vent is okay, it blows air, but my main concern is more heat on the floor area, I see different topics on YouTube, which is very confusing and loof here, then there, drives me crazy. I checked under the hood, all the lines are replaced and have silicone lines. What would be the next step on this to get all of the heat to the floor, and nothing from the vents? Thanks for any help on this issue.

Hi,

The airflow direction is controlled by the mode door actuator. It is located under the dash on the HVAC box.

The actuator in this case is operated by engine vacuum. If there is a vacuum leak at the actuator, in the hose before the actuator, or the actuator itself is bad, this can happen.

I am going to attach the directions for replacing the actuator. I'm not saying it needs to be replaced, but I need you to gain access to it to confirm there is no leak and the linkage is fully attached.

Take a look at the directions and let me know if you have questions and if you are comfortable performing them.

Take care,

Joe
