If you buy the 9006 headlight conversion kit bulbs. Basically, these have the proper resistors and ignitors in them that they should just plug in.
However, I would be sure to keep your original bulbs because I have seen many times that on these older vehicles where a lot of the other lights stop operating properly due to the LED being different then the halogen.
However, if you have a dim bulb then more than likely it is not the bulb. More than likely it is either the connector that has corrosion on it and it is causing the bulb to be dim, or the lens is cloudy.

Also, here are two videos that will help with this further. The reason I say this is because if one of these are the issue then just changing to the LED may make it slightly brighter but not solve the issue.
