When you switch the headlights on all other lights shut off

When you turn the switch for the lights the first setting works fine, but when you switch the headlights on all other lights shut off. The switch tested fine and there are no blown fuses. Can I wire in a toggle switch to operate just my headlights?

Welcome to 2CarPros.

First, before doing anything else, confirm the body grounds are good. I have seen lighting that works until a heavy load is placed on it (headlights for example) then the ground fails.

Check the wiring around the battery. Make sure nothing is loose, damaged, or corroded.
