I hit a deer and it crushed in my grill and broke all the headlight covers on the passenger side of my car. I am finding it very hard to find anything to fit my vehicle. So I was wondering if a headlight assembly from a 1996 Lincoln Continental fit on a 1997 Lincoln Continental?

Hello, I am Danny.

To answer your question. No, a 1996 will not fit your 1997. Your car headlight is a one year only meaning only a headlight from a 1997 will fit. That might be why you are having difficulty finding one. I have attached a tutorial showing what is involved in changing the lens assembly.

It helps my question. I do very much appreciate you taking time to answer me back. Can you tell me what I am supposed to do? Finding my light assembly or anything to fit it is becoming impossible. It is only a matter of time before I get pulled over for having one headlight.

Hello again.

I looked online and the only auto parts store that listed it was NAPA auto parts and it was around $300.00. A Lincoln dealership would be a lot more. I would also suggest looking for a local auto wrecking/dismantler in your area. If you find one in your area even if they do not have they have access to a hotline. What happens is this hotline is connected to all the local wrecking yards and they will broadcast your headlight and the wrecking yard that has it will notify them and give you that particular wrecking yards contact information (name, address, phone number). Hope this helps and thanks again for using 2CarPros.
