My tape deck was broken before I even got this vehicle. It was my grandmother's car, and she and my grandfather put much time and money into the car, which is why it is still alive with 254,xxx miles on it...Regardless, I'd like to try my hand at fixing the tape deck. I need schematics and tips on fixing it. I'm sure the problem is just a broken lever. The tape deck makes a horrible grinding noise every time I hit the preset for the tape deck by accident.

That's not information that we would have. We simply replace the unit or send it out for repair which can cost a whole lot more than just replacing it with an aftermarket radio.

Alright I wasn't sure because I had found this website through google while searching for schematics and had seen them for other things, so I wasn't sure if anyone would have those for the head unit. I will probably just go to a scrapyard and find myself another stock unit. I'd like to get an aftermarket head unit, yet the wiring harness I had for the last aftermarket head unit wouldn't work with my Jeep...Is there a specific adapter I need for my Jeep?

The stereo supply shop will sell you both the stereo and the adapter plug for you application. It's very easy and not expensive.

I can supply wiring diagrams up to the radio but nothing internal to it.
