Installed new head light switch electrical housing. Now the dash lights do not work unless I turn the knob for the interior lights.

Was the switch a OEM replacement? Aftermarket switch cannot work right FYI. Here is a guide to help you test the circuits and the wiring diagrams below so you can confirm the issue:
